Agreement signed between the Municipality and the Cr Firenze Foundation, which is funding the project.

Trees instead of parked cars, sidewalks removed: "Completion by the end of 2026."

Everything revolves around the revitalization of 43 vacant properties identified on Via Palazzuolo, which will be given a new purpose by hosting artisans, artists, contemporary art galleries, as well as bars and restaurants, so the area doesn’t become desolate at night. To achieve this, the Foundation plans to allocate between 5 and 6 million euros. These funds will guarantee free rent to the new tenants for three years. The operational arm is Lama, a social enterprise also involved in urban regeneration. They are responsible for negotiating with the owners of the 43 properties, and agreements have already been reached with some of them. The first space will be inaugurated on Friday, June 6, during the Recreos Festival, which will last the whole weekend and include a neighborhood dinner: it’s the “portineria” of Recreos at Via degli Orti Oricellari 6. “The hope,” adds Dini, “is to complete the project by the end of 2026.”
